Like most of you my favorite assignment has was the second one, Student Bio Website redesign, because it was amazing to see how you could actually create something. We no longer had just simple words on a page but an actual functioning website, I honestly never dreamed I’d be able to do that. I never even owned my own laptop until I was 19 and here I am now typing in my very own web address! Also the CSS style sheets have so many possibilities that it really does excite me to mess around with it. I enjoyed making the page mine and learning what a code meant and could change in an instant, it gave me a sense of accomplishment when I finally understood how it all worked.

Oddly enough, the Student Bio Website redesign is also my least favorite assignment. As said, I love how many possibilities the CSS sheets give us, but it also has so many codes on it that I almost went crazy doing it. Not to be to full of excuses but I hated this project because I procrastinated on it, and like a dummy, I went through and tried to manually type in every single code in a short amount of time. Therefore, I didn’t get to turn my project in at the level of style it should have been. This made me really hate this project at first, but now that I’ve sat back down and started working on it again I love it!

I have learned a lot in this class because, as said, I didn’t really know anything before stepping into it. The most significant thing I’ve learned is that we need to be flexible. We need to be flexible not only with our responsive websites but also within our on coding knowledge. Something doesn’t work, than there is usually some way to fix it. Media platforms are always changing and adapting and so is our job profession, but we need to stay up-to-date on website building. This class really showed me how quickly things are moving and that they will continue to move, we’ll just have to adjust sometimes.

It’s interesting that you’ve named your bio redesign both your most and least favorite project of the year so far. Something tells me that bootstrap will quickly replace the bio redesign as your least favorite project. It looks challenging, but I believe in you! I can’t wait to see what our websites will look by the end of the semester. Good luck!

I’d have to agree with your take on the redesign. There were some elements for me that I really enjoyed– personalizing my site– but it also had elements that I found extremely challenging. In hindsight, I’m pleased with my end product though..
