My Experience in Web Design & Pub

So far, I have had a great time in Web Design & Publishing. I’ve always wanted to learn how to code and being able to create my own personal website has been both fun and engaging.

Seriously, how cool is this?!
Seriously, how cool is this?!

My favorite project so far has been the Bio redesign on our website. Yes, it’s cool to learn how to actually build our website in HTML. But, being able to apply a CSS style sheet to our website and really begin to see our websites look more professional is really an awesome feeling. The sense of satisfaction that occurs when your website is structured properly is fantastic. My least favorite project we’ve done so far was the first Bio website build. Given that my knowledge of web coding was fairly low during the time, this project proved to be challenging for me to grasp. Furthermore, while I did well on the project the website at the time was very rudimentary. I can’t wait to see the website once everything is said and done. Right now, the most important thing I have learned is Media queries. In today’s world, you have to make your website easily readable on all sorts of devices. Knowing how to use media queries effectively is an invaluable tool. In reality, everything I have learned in this class so far will be extremely useful and I couldn’t be more thankful for it.

I think the bio-redesign was a lot of people’s favorite assignment because it made everybody’s page look a lot closer to what we’ve envisioned in our heads. And I definitely agree with you about media queries and responsive design.
