YouTube is a user content website. All the posts are by outside sources. Once of my favorite things about YouTube is the relationship with Google. I purchase movies and TV shows from Google Play Store. This allows me to view all my purchases through YouTube. As I mentioned, it is a user content driven site. This means anyone can create a video and post it. There are videos describing movies and video games. There are videos of people cooking and baking. There are even “how-to” videos of putting on make-up or what not to wear. It is one thing to have a page on YouTube and post your videos, but to become YouTube famous is another level. Many people in the younger generations only watch YouTube and these people that post daily. The website is laid out very well and is pleasing to the eye. There is an amazing search feature that allows easy access to what you are looking to find.
IMDB is a website that you either love or hate. I personally love it. It allows me to search names of actors or movies. It allows me to view trailers and learn history of the actors, the producers, the directors and the movies. It is very user friendly with content from around the world. This site allows for full descriptions of television series episodes and a database of the episodes for each show. While the site worked perfectly ten years ago, it is a little out of date with other sites. The site is symmetrical and easy to navigate while learning the content. From pictures to video to descriptions and more, the site has all the information needed for searching film or television. I believe with a good revamp of the site and the content, it could once again be a main source of information regarding film and television.
I can personally say that I love IMDB myself because you can look up various actors and actresses and peek into their film career with a click of a button. One thing I have used it for was to reach out to their publicist and management team for booking an actor for an event. All of their information is usually listed so you can reach out to them quickly.
I regularly check videos on Youtube and they have improved the website in a much convenient way. It is amazing how you can find any kind of videos so easily ! I watch a lot of tutorials, it is definitely one of my favorite website !
IMDB is like my girl! I got to it for everything! I love how they always have the news trailers displayed on the main page.
I really just go to youtube now when spotify fails me. But IMBD is the settler of all trivial movie arguments between me and my buddies. I actually take the quizzes on there if I’m super bored or want to really trip someone out with an insane amount of cinematic facts, lol 😛
