Readit. Reddit. Loveit

redditReddit — I am sure everyone of our generation has heard of it, but what exactly is Reddit and why is there such a huge following? Reddit is essentially a bulletin board for all things on the internet. It contains the most popular and interesting things on the internet and categorizes it into “subreddits”. It is a social networking site just as much as a news and information site.

I typically access this site every other day. For me, as an advertising major, it is a good tool. It shows you trends in media, and is hilarious and entertaining. Whenever I scavenge whatever little free time I have I find myself listening to music surfing Reddit. Another aspect that adds to a lot of Reddits following is the community Reddit has formed. It has such a large community of heavy users that post and comment a lot. If you ever want to laugh, read the comments redactors leave!

Though basically reddit is a blog, I feel like it could use a better format and layout for the website. The content and how the post are rated and sequenced is brilliant, the websites layout and navigation needs a little work in my opinion.

If you have not ever visited the site I suggest you do. It has something for everyone to get engulfed in and then all the sudden you’ll be like “What happened to my life? Where did all the time go?” Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

This is awesome! This is the only app on the blog I havent heard of and I am so excited to get and utilize it. As a PR major it is important for me to keep up with news, and this app will help me to do so. Thank you for recommending this!

Because of you I find myself on Reddit a lot more than I had expected. It is quite hilarious and I like the comedic “family” aspect of the site. It is definitely a site that one can visit if they are feeling alone in their awkwardly hilarious lives. Also, I like how it is informative, not just funny. I can definitely get some of my news from this site now, too. Thanks for the introduction! I shall now go waste my life away on Reddit.

I’ve heard a lot about Reddit, but I’ve never really used it save a few AMA’s by people I’m interested in. I want to start using (or reading?) Reddit, but I honestly wouldn’t even know where to start. Reddit just seems so huge and vast and is kind of overwhelming to start, if that makes sense. I did hear that Reddit’s CEO Ellen Pao recently stepped down because of backlash she’s received for creating certain policies on the site. I don’t know too much about her, but I’m going to look more into why she stepped down. Do you know anything about that?
