My favorite project thus far has been project two, the redesign of project one. I loved it because I could really put whatever I wanted on my website. I designed it the way I wanted (besides the requirements), it was a difficult and enjoyable project to do. It was probably the most fun that I have had so far in class.
My least favorite project would have to be the responsive exercise. I wish it could all be responsive automatically, but I did not have that privilege. I didn’t like it because at times I feel like I didn’t know what I was doing, and it was frustrating. I did all that I could, and it still did not turn out the way that I wanted it too. I learned a lot about the responsive exercise and why websites should be responsive, but I was not a fan.
I think that the most important thing that I have learned would be responsive design. I was not a big fan making my website responsive, but I understand the concept of it. It’s important to make sure your website is responsive because technology is advancing everyday, and people do not have the time to go to a desktop to find what they need to find. There are many different ways people get their news. I get most of my information from my phone and having a responsive website is important for users who are on their phone most of the time.
I agree with you on the whole responsive design is difficult idea. I spent a lot of time tweaking the percentages so that my pictures didn’t look weird. That was kind of annoying and I wish there were a better way of doing it. (There very well might be, but I don’t know of it). I mean seriously, what if you have an online gallery with nothing but pictures? Then what? How do you format all of those pictures all at once to be responsive while maintaining quality?
Yes, that assignment was so hard. My website kept looking all deformed and weird. I mean the outcome of a responsive website is awesome but its the whole getting it to work part that I’m having trouble with haha
