My experience… so far

My Web Pub experience so far has been a highly positive one.

My favorite assignment (but definitely not the easiest) was the trouble shooting assignment. Even though it was probably the most difficult at the time because missing one thing could end in a less than sufficient grade, it helped me confirm I’m on the right track. I did WAY better than I expected and in return kind of confirmed I somewhat know what I’m doing.

My least favorite was project 1. Having to start our own website from nothing was quite confusing. There were many times I was unsure of myself which got me a little down. I know we all learned a bit of code from the MySpace days but this was nothing like that. Even though it’s my least favorite, it’s probably been the most helpful for me. It makes you form nothing into something and you can’t fix errors in the future if you don’t have experience fixing them already.

I think the most important thing I’ve learned so far is css. It’s kind of the backbone for websites today. Without some sort of style sheet, no one is going to be interested in your site. Html allows for basic designing elements but css is where it gets taken to the next level. Aesthetics today are a huge part of what we base our interests off of and css helps to add a better design element to your page.

fun fact: if you didn’t learn your early coding skills from MySpace, you probably learned it from NeoPets.
