Hulu and Dollar Shave Club

I have selected Hulu and Dollar Shave Club as two websites that I feel are well designed.

Hulu is a website that I visit very often. Granted I do not always use the online version but when I do I find it very user-friendly and easy to navigate. When you find the site, you are given a few options on top as your navigation links on what you want to see and where you want to go on the site. You have TV, Movies, Kids, Add-Ons and other which is a box with three dots inside of it. With all the options you have countless hours of things to watch in the comfort of your home or while you are on the go and maybe at a doctors office or airport.

When you create an account, sign in and begin marking shows as a favorite to watch, you will get recommendations that you will pop up on your home page as you scroll down to see what is trending, what new movie trailers are out and so on. This is a cool feature because you may be introduced to something hat you didn’t know existed and may not have selected it yourself. I use this feature a lot for my son, because he likes some movies and cartoons and others he is not a big fan of. One item I love, and he does as well is the Superheroes for Kids section. It has so many options of shows that are superhero themed so he will watch and then pretend he is a superhero from whatever show he was watching that day.

I also really like the Latino section of options in its navigation bar. You are immediately given tons of options of movies, television shows, cartoons and short films that are all in Spanish. I find it great that there are so many options for kid shows because I thing it is extremely important for my son to know how to understand and speak Spanish and this does help him in the learning process on how to comprehend the language. If Spanish isn’t your cup of tea, there is also British and Korean options as well.

Another website that I use is the Dollar Shave Club.

I found this website through an online advertisement and then I heard a commercial for it on the radio. I thought I would look into it because like most people, I found myself going to the store to buy razors at the store and they would get more and more expensive. From the first time I logged into the website, I found the use of it was extremely easy and very straight forward.

If you are new to the program you can click on “How it Works” and it will give you a run down on what signing up entails and how you get to pick and choose what you want and how often you want it. If you click on any of the product lines, it will open up a page with the products in that section, give you descriptions of the items and the cost and allow you to click and it will add it into your box. The same with the actual blades when you sign up. You pick from three options which are very inexpensive.

One of the features I think is nice is, you can click in the upper right hand corner there is a section labeled “Box”. When you click on this, it will not take you to another page like most sites do so you can see what is in your box, it will open up a sidebar and show you what you have in your box and the total at that time. Makes it simple and you can stay on the page you are on without having to navigate back to it later. Once you are a member you can log in and adjust things as may want to add style products, shave products buy more or less razors and so on and the account page is an easy way to do this without having to go through each page to search because it lists everything right there for you. Just click on the orange tab with the price and it will add it to your box.

All in all a great website, easy to navigate, looks pleasing and isn’t busy at all. The products themselves are pretty great as well, so if you haven’t signed up, you should try it and sign up today.
