Favorite Website Design

The two websites I think are designed well and easy to navigate are the ESPN.com website and the Spotify website. If you read my blog post about my favorite website or app then you probably could have guessed one of my websites would be sports related!

espnwebsiteI’m a fan of the design of the ESPN website because it is really user friendly. The website design isn’t to complicated to figure out but there is a lot of information jammed packed on each page. Along the top banner of the website, there’s a banner that has live scores of all the games, well notable games, that are going on that day. Along the left side there is a section where you can make your favorite teams scores and schedule pop up. This comes in handy so people aren’t having to use the search bar at the top right corner to search every team they might have an interest in. There’s plenty of options as you scroll down the page that show all the top sports news stories for the day. I really like the simplicity of the website because there is a lot of information as I said earlier but it’s easily accessible.

spotify1 Spotify is a site that has a lot of cool design aspects and isn’t to hard to get along with either. Well I pay for Spotify premium (for college students it’s like $5.99/month, don’t quote me) so I’m not 100% sure if the user interface is the same or different. But I how the search bar at the top left is so big and attracts so much attention. So it’s like if you’ve had a song stuck in your head all day then it’s right there at your fingertips. desktop-your-music-albumsOn the screen while the song is playing it shows a picture of the album cover with play, pause, and skip options. The length of the song stretches across the entire bottom of the screen so it makes it easier to pick out a certain part of the song. Also on the bottom are lyric, shuffle, repeat and queue options all located in the same general area so there’s no searching necessary. I like the flow of the website since you can have multiple things open at once like lyrics as well as searching another song while your music is still playing. Since I like sports and music these are the two websites that pop in my head first.

ESPN is the only sports site I get my sports news and information from. Other news outlets are too cluttered and put sports on the back burner.
